The DR. Reviews "The Hills Have Eyes" UNRATED VERSION

Greetings Fellow Gorehounds.

Thank you for taking the time to join me in the Morgue of Mayhem once again.

With us is a patient that many of us should have the pleasure in viewing sometime in thier life......destined to become a classic. (I don't think I'm pouring it on a little thick.) If you've seen High Tension then you know what Alexandre Aja's capable of.........with this one he goes beyond that point.

"The Hills Have Eyes".

Symptoms:
The shock-a-minute chiller that scared the hill out of audiences around the world takes terror to the next level in this Unrated Special Edition including additional footage not shown in theaters and DVD special features to die for!
A cross-country road trip takes a deadly turn in this spine-tingling remake of Wes Craven's classic horror masterpiece about a stranded family that falls prey to a freakish clan of bloodthirsty mutants in the New Mexico desert. Packed with gut-wrenching gore, ghastly makeup effects and heart-stopping suspense, The Hills Have Eyees will keep you on the edge of your seat -- and your sanity!

Diagnosis:
What can I possibly say about this patient that hasn't already been said....? Ahh, I got it! CRAVEN WHO???

THIS is a remake done RIGHT!!! Take the original source material and expand on it, tweak it ever so slightly and then DRIVE HOME the survival aspect. THIS is the film that will guage what every future remake wants to aspire to.
The family wasn't that bad to deal with....not worse then what we're usually fed with as far as dysfunctional families go. This family seem "Typically" dysfunctional....not your standard "Over the Top" dysfunctional.
The Mutants were rather Ugly and Extremely Vicious. The big headed dude that was singing the Star Spangled Banner.....he reminded me of that Big Headed dude in Fangoria's "Skinned Deep"....but much uglier.
The Gore is moist, meaty, chunky and plentiful. Suspence tightly wound in this one....don't be surprised if your down to your 2nd knuckle, while finger-nail biting, when the film's over.

This is the film Wes Craven (WHO???) wanted to make but didn't have the Cojones to go as far as Aja did.

STRONG 3.5 /WEAK 4 out of 4 stars. (Or final score of 3.75).

This is about as perfect a Remake can get....or at least THIS one can get......Cronenberg's THE FLY gets top honors with a Solid 4 star.If you HAVEN't seen this film....the UNRATED version is THE ONE to see for maximum impact.

Special Features:
2 Commentary Tracks
"Surviving the Hills": Making of the Hills Have Eyes Documentary.
Production Diaries
Music Video: "Leave the Broken Hearts" be The Finalist
Run time 108 Minutes

EVIL BREED: The Legend of Samhain (UNCUT) REVIEW!!!

Greetings Fellow Gorehounds!!!

Well if this isn't a treat then I don't know what is....

A "Friend" from work handed me a DVD-R and said he recorded this film EVIL BREED for me...saying it was an UNCUT version from PPV. (Pay Per View).

I was like "Cool. I'll examine it tonight.". Which is what I did when I got home from the "Real Job". The plot is something like this...in a nutshell.

A group of American Students travel to Ireland to study celtic and Druid lore. They are warned by some cottage caretaker about strange going on's in the field and in the woods at night. When the students don't heed the warnings ... the shit begins to hit the fan.

As I was sitting through this film I realized that this was INDEED an UNCUT version and NOT the "R" version currently on the video store shelves. One guy has his intestines pulled out through his Sphincter and then is choked with them. One female is graphically gutted and her intestines (And sillicone Implants) are ripped out of her chest cavity. And many more sick and twisted stuff where this came from.

Actors are...Richard Grieko (Cameo in Opening Sequence), Jenna Jamison (Cameo in main film), Neil Napier (From $LA$HER$ Film), along with some other female porn stars.

The acting is adequate. The Make-up & Gore are well done. The flesh content is enough to keep you watching if the other stuff isn't.

It's pretty cool just having things fall in your lap when you least expect them.

Worth a viewing...if you can find an UNCUT copy.

I have a strange feeling that the "R" version isn't going to make a bit of sense with all the sickness cut out of it.
